Membership Fees
For this
calendar year, there are seven classes of membership for the Cincinnati
Rowing Club: Adult, Boat Owner,
Full-Time Student, Young Adult,
Summer, Learn to Row, and Coxswain.
Descriptions of each class are excerpted from the Club bylaws and listed
below. If you are an experienced rower interested in joining the club,
please complete the application
form and waiver and submit it as directed
on the form.
Adult
Membership
for individuals over the age of 18 who plan to be an active participant
in the club's activities with full club privileges. Qualification for
membership in this category is the payment of an annual fee set at the
first Board of Directors meeting of the calendar year. Membership in this
category entitles the member to use all club equipment subject to club
regulations, to store privately owned boats for a fee in the club boat
house subject to availability, to attend regular club meetings, to attend
club social activities, to compete in any regattas under the Cincinnati
Rowing Club, and to receive a copy of all club correspondence. Dues for
this category for this year are $250.
Boat
Owner
Membership
for individuals over the age of 18 who plan to be an active participant
in the club's activities with full club privileges and who own personal
rowing equipment stored at the club's facility. Qualification for membership
in this category is the payment of an annual fee set at the first Board
of Directors meeting of the calendar year. Members in this category must
also pay fees to the governing authority of the facility for the privilege
of storing equipment at that facility. These fees are set and billed by
the governing authority for the facility. Membership in this category
entitles the member to use all club equipment subject to club regulations,
to attend regular club meetings, to attend club social activities, to
compete in any regattas under the Cincinnati Rowing Club, and to receive
a copy of all club correspondence. Dues for this category for this year are
$150.
Full-Time
Students
Membership
for individuals who plan to be an active participant in the club's activities
with limited club privileges. Members in this category must be at least
18 years old and be enrolled as a full-time student. Qualification for
membership in this category is the payment of an annual fee set at the
first Board of Directors meeting of the calendar year. Membership in this
category entitles the member to use all club equipment subject to club
regulations, to attend regular club meetings, to attend club social activities,
to compete in any regattas under the Cincinnati Rowing Club, and to receive
a copy of all club correspondence. Members in this category are not eligible
to store privately owned boats in the club's facility. Dues for this category
for this year are $150.
Young
Adult
Membership
for individuals who plan to be an active participant in the club's activities
with limited club privileges. Members in this category must fall between
the ages of 16 and 18 years old, be enrolled as a full-time student, and
have some prior rowing and/or coxing experience. Qualification for membership
in this category is the payment of an annual fee set at the first Board
of Directors meeting of the calendar year. Membership in this category
entitles the member to use all club equipment subject to club regulations,
to attend regular club meetings, to attend club social activities, to
compete in any regattas under the Cincinnati Rowing Club, and to receive
a copy of all club correspondence. Members in this category must be directly
supervised at all times when on the water. The Board of Directors must
unanimously approve all memberships in this class.
Summer
Membership
for individuals who plan to be an active participant in the club's activities
with limited club privileges. Members in this category must fall between
the ages of 18 and 22 years old. Qualification for membership in this
category is the payment of an annual fee set at the first Board of Directors
meeting of the calendar year. Membership in this category entitles the
member to use all club equipment subject to club regulations, to store
privately owned boats for a fee in the club boat house subject to availability,
to attend regular club meetings, to attend club social activities, to
compete in any regattas under the Cincinnati Rowing Club, and to receive
a copy of all club correspondence. Membership in this category does not
come with voting privileges. Exceptions to the minimum/maximum age can
be made with the unanimous approval of the Board of Directors. Members
under the age of 18 must have direct adult supervision at all times. Summer
members wishing to continue to row past the middle of September must join
as a full-time member and pay the difference in membership fees. Dues
for this category for this year are $125.
Learn
to Row
Membership
for individuals who plan to be an active participant in the club's activities
with full club privileges. Members in this category must either be enrolled
in the Cincinnati Rowing Club Learn to Row Program or have completed the
program in the same calendar year. Qualification for membership in this
category is the payment of a one-time fee determined by the Board of Directors
in addition to the fees for the Learn to Row classes. Membership in this
category entitles the member to use all the club equipment subject to
club regulations, to store privately owned boats for a fee in the club
boathouse subject to availability, to attend regular club meetings, to
attend club social activities, to compete in any regattas under the Cincinnati
Rowing Club, and to receive a copy of all club correspondence. Members
may only be in this category for one year. The continuation fee for this
category for this year is $150, but is waived for graduates of this year's Learn
to Row Program.
Coxswain
Coxswain membership
is available for individuals in recognition of the contribution that coxing
affords club members. For coxswain members, dues are waived. Coxswains
must be willing to be identified as such and be available on a reasonable
basis to cox. Coxswain members may row on an occasional or even regular
basis. All other membership rules apply to coxswains. The Board of Directors
must approve inclusion in this class.
